Inspiration

Liberty Leading the People, or La Liberté guidant le peuple, is a masterpiece of the Romantic era, painted by French artist Eugène Delacroix in 1830. Commemorating the July Revolution that deposed King Charles X, this powerful image portrays the allegorical figure of Liberty leading a mixture of social classes in revolution, symbolizing the fight for freedom.

Homage

Revolutionaries displays the personification of the Goddess of Liberty inspiring (from left to right) Simon Bolivar, Sun Yat-sen, Benjamin Franklin and Toussaint Louverture - all revolutionary figures whose incredible lives have featured in Extra History. Art by David Hueso.
